There is no better feeling for an athlete than to win a gold medal for your country. On Friday, four Team Storm and Roto Grip athletes did just that at the 2019 World Bowling Senior Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Leanne Hulsenberg teamed up with Tish Johnson while Lennie Boresch Jr. joined his doubles partner Ron Mohr for the doubles portion of competition. This was the second gold medal for Boresch who had placed first in the singles portion while Johnson earned a bronze medal in the singles round. Both of these doubles teams earned silver in the 2017 event in Germany.

“(Team USA head coach) Rod Ross asked me who I thought I’d like to bowl with this week, and I told him I thought Leanne and I needed to do it for a chance to redeem ourselves,” Johnson said in the official press release here.

“Our goal coming in was to win this, and I’m happy we were able to come out ahead.”

All four players choose to throw Storm and Roto Grip exclusively and have been members of our team for several years.

For the title match Johnson chose to throw her Storm PhysiX, Hulsenberg and Boresch chose their !Q Tours, and Mohr chose the Roto Grip IDOL. All players are limited to a six ball arsenal for competition.

“I’ve had an exciting couple of days, and I’m very happy right now, but I really, really want us to win the team event even more now.” Boresch said in the official release here.

“We can’t let two of the greatest bowlers in the world leave here without a gold medal. I think all of this will sink in once I get home, but the eye is still on the team event, and I know there will be some tough competition.”

Team USA and the rest of the athletes take to the lanes Saturday for the team portion of the championships. For more information on the 2019 World Senior Championships, visit WorldBowling.org.
