BRIGHAM CITY, Utah – Storm Products officially announced today the hiring of Dylan Byars, as Web Developer.

Byars studied User Experience Design (UX) at The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a focus on implementing user research methods to understand consumer behavior as they navigate the digital space. He’s constantly learning about ways to connect data to how people feel which helps weave stories and ideate solutions on their behalf.

“It feels surreal to work at Storm,” Byars said. “As a leader in the industry, I feel a great responsibility to honor the company’s excellence to be a better version of myself day after day and continuously grow and contribute towards that excellence.”

Byars started bowling when he was 12 years old and quickly developed a passion for the sport. He spent many nights at the bowling center while his mother competed in league and learned more about the game. He competed at a youth level and committed to bowl for SCAD. While attending SCAD, Byars balanced his academics and commitment to the bowling team as he was coached by Katie Thorton. Through Thorton’s direction, Byars said he was inspired to be not only a better bowler but also the best teammate he could be. In 2019, as a team they reached one of their goals and won the NAIA Invitational National Championship in 2019.

“As a youth bowler, I firmly believed in Storm Bowling and claimed they had the best bowling balls before I even truly understood ball reaction,” Byars said. “Now I understand why I made such a claim even then. Storm is filled with great people and truly is a family that I feel a part of even though I just started. This family culture bleeds into all of Storm Nation. I look forward to joining the team to help grow the sport and enhance the web experience that any bowler can enjoy daily.”

Byars background in the sport will assist him in his new role at Storm as he will work to create and connect a digital journey for bowlers to experience on our web properties.

“Storm, as an industry leader is known for longevity, loyalty, and innovation. As Storm invests in every level of the sport, it’s exciting to add Byars to our marketing team,” Gary Hulsenberg, Storm’s VP of Marketing said. “Watching the explosion of college bowling programs is exciting and finding places for these players to continue to be part of the sport is positive for our industry. Byars was recommended for the job by his coach, Katie Throton and his passion for his work in UX Design is evident. We’re excited to be part of Byars growth in his career in the bowling industry.”
